Every Great Smile Starts with the Right Foundation
The right time to start is earlier than most parents think. At Lupi Orthodontics, we guide your child’s smile from the very first tooth to the very last adjustment. If you’ve been wondering whether your child is ready for braces, you’re already asking the right question.
At Lupi Orthodontics, we’ve been helping families in Stafford and the surrounding communities for over 30 years. In that time, one thing has remained constant: the children who receive timely orthodontic care almost always have smoother, shorter, and more comfortable treatment than those who wait. That isn’t pressure, it’s simply the gift of good timing.
The American Association of Orthodontists recommends that every child have their first orthodontic evaluation by age 7. By that point, Dr. Lupi can identify patterns in jaw development and tooth alignment that may benefit from early guidance, even if braces aren’t needed right away. Sometimes, all we need to do is watch. And when we do act early, we’re using your child’s natural growth to our advantage. Your child will walk in as a new patient and leave as part of the Lupi family. That’s a promise we’ve kept for three decades.

Every child develops differently, but there are a few common signs worth paying attention to:
If any of these sound familiar, a simple evaluation with Dr. Lupi will give you clear answers — and peace of mind either way.
The most widely used and time-tested orthodontic treatment in the world is more comfortable today than ever before. High-grade stainless steel brackets and archwires work together to gently and precisely move teeth into alignment. Kids often enjoy personalizing their look with colorful elastic bands at each adjustment visit. Metal braces are highly effective for a wide range of orthodontic issues, including significant crowding, bite problems, and jaw concerns.

For children and families who prefer a subtler appearance, ceramic braces use tooth-colored or clear brackets that blend beautifully with the natural shade of the teeth. They work exactly like metal braces, with the same precision and reliability, but with a look that’s far less noticeable at school, in photos, and during activities. Many of our older kids and preteens appreciate having an effective option without drawing attention.
KLOwen® is one of the most exciting innovations in modern orthodontics, and Lupi Orthodontics is proud to offer it. KLOwen braces use a fully customized, patient-specific bracket and wire system that is designed for your child’s unique anatomy from the very start. Because every component is custom-engineered to fit precisely, treatment tends to be more efficient and more comfortable than conventional braces. For families who want cutting-edge technology paired with exceptional care, KLOwen is a remarkable option.

One of the reasons families trust Lupi Orthodontics is our commitment to using advanced technology, not for its own sake, but because it genuinely makes your child’s experience better.
iTero® Digital Scanner: No messy impressions. We use a comfortable digital scanner to create a precise 3D model of your child’s teeth and jaw, which informs every stage of their treatment plan.
Our in-house 3D printing capability allows us to fabricate custom orthodontic components with remarkable accuracy, reducing wait times and improving fit.
Between in-office visits, our remote monitoring system allows Dr. Lupi to track your child's progress through simple photo check-ins, meaning fewer trips to the office without sacrificing any quality of care.

You may have heard the terms “Phase 1” and “Phase 2” when it comes to children’s orthodontic treatment. Here’s a simple breakdown:

typically takes place between ages 7 and 10, while a mix of baby and permanent teeth is still present. This phase may involve braces, a palatal expander, or other appliances to address jaw development, serious crowding, or bite issues that are easier to correct while the jaw is still growing.

usually begins around ages 11 to 14, once most permanent teeth have come in. This is when most children get their full set of braces to achieve the finished alignment of their smile.

We never want cost to stand between your child and a healthy smile. Lupi Orthodontics works with most major insurance providers and offers a range of flexible financing options to make treatment as accessible as possible for every family.
During your child’s consultation, our team will review your insurance benefits, explain out-of-pocket costs clearly, and work with you to create a payment plan that fits your budget. We’ll handle the details so you can focus on what matters: your child’s smile.

There’s something genuinely special about watching a child’s confidence grow alongside their smile. It happens gradually, a little more willingness to laugh openly, a little less hesitation before a photo, and then one day you look at your child and realize that the investment you made in their smile is something they’ll carry with them for the rest of their life.
At Lupi Orthodontics, that’s what we’re really building. Not just straight teeth, but the kind of confidence that starts here and never stops paying forward. If you’re ready to take the first step, we’d love to meet your family. Schedule a free in-person consultation or start with a virtual assessment, whichever feels right for you. You’ll walk in as a new patient. You’ll leave as part of the Lupi family.
